How to Apply

DNP program applications are accepted up to FEBRUARY 15 for FALL SEMESTER admission and AUGUST 1 for SPRING SEMESTER admission.
(Admission after the posted deadlines will be considered on a case-by-case basis.)

Admission Requirements:

  • Completed Master's degree or Post Master's certificate in Advanced Practice Nursing specialty role (e.g. ANP, PNP, FNP, CRNA, CNM, CNS, etc) from an accredited institution with minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.

  • GRE (within past 5 years). There is no minimum GRE score recommended for this program.

  • Proof of current Advanced Practice Licensure in your state of residence.

  • Proof of Advanced Practice Specialty Certification.

  • Completed NursingCAS application

  • Essay (500 words) addressing desired focus and areas of interest for practice in DNP program.

  • Three (3) professional recommendations describing ability to be successful in a DNP program

  • Curriculum Vitae

  • Successful personal Interview with DNP admissions committee.

NursingCAS Application Process
(The Centralized Application Service for Nursing Programs)

 

STEP 1 - to NursingCAS

  • Completion of an online NursingCAS application and pay the appropriate fee

  • All of the admission requirements must be sent to NursingCAS and verified by them no later than FEBRUARY 15 for FALL SEMESTER AND AUGUST 1 for SPRING SEMESTER.

  • Complete the required FIU supplemental application and pay the $30 fee


STEP 2 – Professional Interview

  • Following a review of all completed applications a select number of applicants will be offered the opportunity to participate in a panel interview.

  • Interview candidates may be instructed to bring an additional set of official transcripts to their interview appointment.
